The apartelle row at the back of Starmall is full of character.
In black and white, it reminds me of old school Manila. Narrow roads and power cables complete the scene, bringing me back to the time when a pay phone costs only three 25 centavo coins.
The round terrace railings with wrought iron accents was at that time found in almost all gates. In a few homes it spelled the initials of the owner, in some it spelled the entire last name.
I remember when at that time, there were no FX Taxis and crazy motorcycle groupies... only buses and jeepneys ruled the streets. Unlike now that a lot of accidents, and crimes, are caused by stupid motorcycle riders.
Don't get me wrong, i love living in the "now".
I just enjoy reminiscing every so often.
